The Croatian kyokushin karate organization (HKKO) was represented by Shihan Vlado Haljer, 5th DAN (HKKO representative), Sempai Miroslav Fresl, 1st DAN (the coach) and Kristina Vugrin, 2nd KYU (competitor).
Kristina Vugrin competed in the junior (-55 kg) category and won 3rd place!!!
After two convincing victories over the representatives of France and Bulgaria, in (literally) the last second of a very even semifinal fight Kristina lost to the last years champion and this years vice champion, Alba Piqueras of Spain.

In the period from Dec, 7 till Dec, 11 the HKKO will hold a kyokushin karate seminar under the leadership of Shihan Peter Voogt, 7th DAN from Holland and Shihan Vlado Haljer, 5th DAN, the president of HKKO.
Most of the seminar will take place in the FENIKS dojo in Rude at the same time as regular scheduled trainings (go to: Clubs).
On Wed, Dec, 9th the seminar will be held at the blue room of the Primary school Kozala in Rijeka (entrance from the parking lot) from 18’00 to 21’00, marking the admittance of the CARPE DIEM FIGHT CLUB into the HKKO.

In the period from Dec,7 to Dec, 11 a kyokushin karate seminar will be held in the facilities of the Feniks club under the leadership of Shihan Peter Voogt, 7th DAN from Holland and Shihan Vlado Haljer, 5th DAN, the president of HKKO.
After the spring camp in Veli Lošinj, the members of the Feniks dojo took part in the last (4th) tournament of the Croatian Kyokushinkai League held in Sisak on May,31 winning second place the overall club rank list..
Filipa Hofer and Kristina Vugrin, representatives of HKKO, took part in the tournament in Vienna that once again brought together numerous competitors of all ages. Kristina won 2nd and Filipa 4th place in the junior category of fights. For Kristina Vugrin this is the first of the three tournaments – followed by the ones in Slovakia and Hungary – for the European junior championship which will take place in Paris on Nov, 28.

Having represented the HKKO at the 23. European senior championship in Kiev on May, 23 – at which point the HKKO, after last year’s entry into the EKKO, officially became member of the IKO (International Karate Organisation- Kyokushinkaikan) – and having taken part in the traditional 42nd summer camp at Papendal as one of the instructors, Shihan Vlado Haljer held a seminar for the Feniks dojo members from Jul, 16 till Jul, 21.
The 5th Feniks dojo summer camp was held at Tribunj from Aug, 13 till Aug, 20. The situation got heated as some 20 members of the club took part.
